My husband and I enjoy being outside in the wintertime, ice skating, skiing or just walking enjoying the beautiful snow.  I've got qutie a few winter coats but make sure that I wear a very warm winter jacket when I go outside to play.  I save my fashionable wool coat to wear to work for for a special occasion, when I'm out shoveling the sidewalk or cleaning off the car I wear my very warm LL Bean winter jacket. It's a fabulous mid-thigh length, not too long, but long enough and has a removable hood.  It keeps me warm in the coldest weather.  There are many different makers of womens winter jackets to choose from.  Make sure you choose based on the area in which you live.  If you live in the mid-Atlantic you don't necessarily need a coat that will keep you warm up to -40 degrees. It may be too warm.
